Ida Mat Aris is an experienced traveler with a passion for cultural immersion and traditional healing methods.

She started her Transformative Wellness Vacation and Retreats to spread cultural tolerance, healing and transformation one needle at a time. As an avid hiker and nature lover, she always likes to explore  and travel to places that honor local traditions and cultures.

Ida loves traveling to Mexico, and the one place in Mexico that captured her heart 10 years ago was Oaxaca. Traveling with Acupuncturists Without Borders (AWB) for a World Healing Exchange Tour, she experienced for the first time Temazcal and limpias ceremonies, made herbs while visiting and interacting with Indigenous healers, and ate good mole.

Tierraventura.com was founded in 1999 in Oaxaca, Mexico. At a time when many considered it unsafe to venture into the remote mountain areas of this beautiful and diverse state, we set out to promote ecotourism. Our goal was to connect visitors with places they couldn't easily reach on their own, acting as a bridge between indigenous communities eager to welcome travelers and guests seeking to experience authentic Mexico. We promoted a slow and respectful form of tourism, encouraging travelers to explore the land with all their senses.

From the outset, we were captivated by the deep connection our local guides had to the land, their communities, and their knowledge of plants, animals, and living in harmony with nature. This connection served as our entry point into traditional indigenous medicine and wisdom.

In 2019, we launched Tierrasagrada, representing our evolution from adventure travel to sacred exploration. Oaxaca, a truly sacred land, has always captivated us with how its indigenous communities remain deeply connected to their environment. Over the years, they have taught us much, not just about healing plants but about a profound connection with the elements and spirit.
