Thanksgiving is a time for family gathering and appreciating one another. Unfortunately, it is also a time where we tend to overindulge in all the good stuff. Statistics have shown that Americans tend to put about 7-10 lbs on average during the holiday season. No wonder we all love to wear PJs and stretchy pants during this time of the year!
Here is my survival guide for holiday feasting :
1) Exercise - up your exercise from 30 mins to 60 mins daily. Increasing exercises not just help with cardiovascular health but also helps to keep your fingers away from the cookie jar!
2) Increase vegetable intake - this simple but hard to implement habit will help stabilize your blood sugar levels and fill you up longer
3) Go for FATS - Saturated Fats will also help stabilize and satiate you longer. They include avocado, nuts, coconut oil and butter.
4) Make sure you have these herbs and supplements handy -
a) Gymnema : stops sugar and all types of cravings. By not eating sugar, you are reducing inflammation in your body;
b) Zypan : helps regulate digestion, reduce bloating, gas and heartburn; and
c) AF Betafood : our liver will work extra hard during the holiday season. From drinking to overeating, we need to give some TLC to this overworked organ.
